US President-elect Joe Biden began the transition and process of forming a new administration … The American newspaper The News York Times has named three candidates for of the United States Secretary of State. For of head of American diplomacy, according to The New York Times, three people applied William Burns, Chris Koons, and Susan Rice.

Chris Coons

Chris Coons is one of the leading members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He hails from Biden’s home state and is one of his closest friends.

Coons will likely be easy to vote on due to his collegiate relationship with Senate Republicans. The newspaper writes that he has one flaw: Koons could be invaluable to Biden as the engine of his agenda on Capitol Hill.

Susan Rice

Susan is a former national security adviser to the President of the United States. Rice was among a small group of women whom Biden considered as candidates for US vice-presidency.

She is a former Assistant Secretary of State and former US Permanent Representative to the UN. And she is regarded as the leading expert on Africa.

In the Donald Trump Administration, this position was held by Rex Tillerson. After that, he was replaced by Mike Pompeo, who heads the Foreign Ministry today.
