Pompeo arrived in Istanbul, the topic of establishing peace in the Middle East

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mike Pompeo of the United States of America (USA) arrived today to visit Turkey.

Last week, US Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo announced that he would visit seven countries between November 13 and 23, namely France, Turkey, Georgia, Israel, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Pompeo arrived by plane from France to Istanbul in the evening.

He was escorted from the airport with increased security measures.

In the announcement of the tour, he said that the topics of conversation would be different in those countries, but that the emphasis would be on the efforts of the current American administration for the establishment of peace and cooperation in the Middle East.

The State Department announced that Pompeo from Paris will travel to Istanbul with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and discuss religious freedoms in the region.

Turkish authorities have criticized official Washington for expressing alleged concern for religious freedom ahead of Pompey’s visit to the country.
