Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

US publishes video of intercontinental ballistic missile interception

The US military has published a video of the test of the SM-3 Block IIA interceptor missile, which for the first time managed to shoot down an intercontinental ballistic missile.

It is reported that the launch of the target missile was made from the Pacific Ocean towards the continental United States. The interceptor missile was fired by a missile defense destroyer located northeast of Hawaii. It follows from the video that the interception was carried out by the method of kinetic impact in an airless space.

The SM-3 Block IIA missile tests are a key milestone in the creation of the American missile defense system. Russia opposes this program since its completion will allow the United States to count on neutralizing a retaliatory strike in the event of a nuclear attack on the Russian Federation.
