Iran considers Israel guilty of the murder of the Iranian nuclear physicist, one of the founders of the Iranian nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. This was stated by the President of the country Hassan Rouhani, also accusations against Israel sounded from the lips of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

In a statement that was broadcast on national television, Rouhani stressed that the assassination will not stop the development of the country’s nuclear program. “The murder of the martyr Fakhrizadeh shows the despair of our enemies and the depth of their hatred … His martyrdom will not stop our achievements,” the agency quotes his words.

He also promised that the murder of Fakhrizade would not go unanswered. Advisor to the supreme leader of the country Hossein Dehgan, in turn, said that Iran “will fall like lightning on the murderers of the martyr.”

Nuclear physicist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh headed the organization of research and innovation under the Iranian Ministry of Defense. He was also a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Fakhrizadeh became a victim of an assassination attempt: on Friday, his car exploded on the Damavand highway, under the bottom of which a mine was laid.
