Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

A woman was shot inside the US Capitol

The woman entered the building after the current president Donald Trump called his followers to mobilize after not acknowledging his defeat, while Congress was preparing to validate the election won by Joe Biden. The young woman was rushed to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The NBC News channel reported that the shooting was fired by a Capitol security agent amid a crackdown to try to contain the protesters.

In addition, the media are reporting several injuries among the security forces, who were forced to evacuate the congressmen due to the irruption of the protesters.

The protests, which include ultra-nationalist and supremacist armed groups , grew throughout the day and neared the US Capitol until after several struggles with the Police, they managed to break through the security fence and completely take over the steps and the entrance to the seat of the Legislative Power.

It was only when the situation got out of control that Trump asked to avoid “violence”, but did not call on the protesters to withdraw as leaders of both parties are demanding.
