Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Lavrov: Washington is trying to jeopardize the dialogue between Iran and the countries of the Persian Gulf

Washington is doing everything possible to disrupt Iran’s dialogue with the countries of the Persian Gulf, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

He said at a press conference after a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud in Moscow that Russia wants Iran and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf to establish a normal dialogue, reach trust-building agreements. transparency in military matters and to generally develop mutual cooperation.

–  Unfortunately, so far, our American colleagues, at least from the current US administration, have done their best to thwart that dialogue – Lavrov pointed out.

Lavrov stressed that Russia’s proposal to create a security strategy for the Persian Gulf is specifically aimed at developing dialogue between Iran and Arab countries, TASS reported.

The head of Russian diplomacy added that it is crucial that no one interferes in the process of that dialogue or that it undertakes any procedures to undermine the efforts to achieve such a dialogue.
