An armed man was arrested tonight near Capitol Hill. The suspect was identified as Wesley Allen Beeler, 31. Beeler is a resident of Virginia state.
The Police stopped Beeler, the suspected armed man, near Lower Senate Park at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday as mentioned in the arrest report.
Beeler was carrying a lot of ammo along with the firing weapon. He was hiding a Glock 9mm handguns, 509 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 21 12-gauge shotgun cartridges, and one 17-round Glock 17 magazine, all in his Ford pickup truck.
Surprisingly the truck was decorated with a lot of gun decals. that was adorned with gun decals days ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, according to the Capitol Police.
Beeler, of Front Royal, Virginia, allegedly presented an “unauthorized Inauguration credential” to a Capitol Police officer, authorities said. But the police officials are restraining from explaining the kind of document presented to enter the premise.
Beeler said after being released, “It was an honest mistake,â€. Later, the US attorney’s office for the District asked a judge to declare a stay-away order. Beeler was released on personal recognizance during the court hearing in this case.
