Shoigu submitted a report to Putin: 670 square kilometers of territory and 25 settlements came under Russian control

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu today informed Russian President Vladimir Putin of the details of the offensive in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.

During a meeting with Putin in the Kremlin, Shoigu said that 670 square kilometers of territory, 25 settlements, came under Russian control in the “operation to liberate the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic”.

–  The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 5,469 people – Shoigu said.

He added that Ukraine lost 196 tanks and other armored vehicles, 12 airplanes, one helicopter, 69 drones, six anti-aircraft missile systems, 97 multi-barrel rocket launchers, 166 cannons, and 216 cars of various purposes.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated that Ukrainian military commanders have lost control over four units withdrawing from the Luhansk region.

Stating that “the enemy is suffering heavy losses”, he said that around 200 soldiers had been killed during the past day.
