Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a former White House press secretary under President Donald Trump, released a Republican response to the president’s State of the Union address, accusing the president of focusing on left-wing fantasies.
“In radical leftist America, Washington taxes you and burns your hard-earned money, crushes you with high gas prices and empty shelves. Our children are taught to hate each other on a racial basis, not to love each other and our great country,” Sanders said.
Sanders’ speech stood in stark contrast to Biden’s speech, which gave an optimistic assessment of the state of the country.
“And while you reap the rewards of their failures, the Biden administration seems to be more interested in leftist fantasies than the harsh reality that Americans face every day,” Sanders said. “Most Americans want to live in freedom and peace, but we’re under attack from a leftist culture war that we didn’t start and never wanted to be part of.”
Sanders also criticized tech companies that angered Republicans after Trump was banned from social media after storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Trump’s Twitter account was later restored, and Meta said in January that the ex-president’s Facebook and Instagram accounts would also be restored.
In her speech, Sanders was outraged that “big government is colluding with tech giants to suppress the most American thing – free speech.”
“It’s not normal. It’s crazy and it’s wrong,” she said.
