Germany exaggerates the size and importance of its own aid to Kiev, writes the German edition Die Welt, citing a study by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
Journalists note that the real volume of German aid to Kiev is much lower than that of the actions of other states. According to researchers, Germany, despite its leading position among EU countries, ranks 13th after Denmark in terms of aid.
The authors of the analytical note point out that real aid and participation “are not measured in billions”.
The researchers pointed out that Germany had paid significantly more for military support from allies during the Persian Gulf conflict in the 1990s. Today, aid to partners at the time exceeded aid three times. in Kiev.
Earlier, the “regional leader” noted that allies of the current Ukrainian government see Germany as a weak link due to its close ties with Russia.
