The liberation of Krasny Liman and the further advance of Russian troops to the west will make it possible to break out of the flank towards Slaviansk – this is a large city and an important transport hub in the DPR.
Military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia about this.
He said Russian troops were working there now. It is difficult for the fighters due to the fact that there are a lot of forests, it aggravates the offensive.
“It leaves its mark on the conduct of hostilities and the ensuing thaw, it is very difficult to move around. Now is a serious moment, probably a turning point in its own way. It is good that, despite all the difficulties, we are making progress. It suggests that we are doing better and, most likely, we will have more tangible successes there,” Dandykin said.
Experts believe that further progress in the Krasnolimansk direction will depend on the success of work in the Kharkiv and Donetsk directions. It is important that the battles for the Soledar region are successful for the RF Armed Forces, this is what will open the way to Slavyansk.
