Semen Likhodeev/Russian GazeFigure skater Roman Kostomarov was married to his colleague Yulia Lautova, but their marriage broke up three years later. Journalists remembered the words of the Olympic champion about the reason for the divorce of sports stars. Kostomarov’s first feelings for Lautova erupted before his trip to the United States. For four years, the lovers talked on the phone and met only occasionally. After a while, the skaters decided to get married. Lautova, leaving the big sport, moved to her husband in the United States. A year later, the relationship broke down. The wife entered everyday life, and the husband trained, as he dreamed of winning gold at the Olympics. Lautova complained that Kostomarov did not spend time with her. “She wanted to have fun. This is probably why Yulia periodically flew to Moscow. She said she flew to visit her grandmother and missed her parents, but in fact she just hung around. I found out a few months later,” Kostomarov said of his breakup with his first wife. After the divorce, the athlete met a new love. Oksana Domnina became the chosen one, who gave her husband two heirs. The couple married in 2014.
