Aftershocks of magnitude 6.4 and 5.8 occurred with a difference of 17 minutes. They were followed by destruction and power cuts.
A Haber correspondent, Emine Kavasoglu, said that “during the car ride, we started to be thrown to the left, then to the right, there was an incredible cloud of dust.”
“Electricity is completely cut off in the region. The rubble was being dismantled, but we saw how buildings that had not been destroyed before were collapsing before our eyes,” the journalist said.
Moreover, there are injuries and destruction in Syria. The towns of Al-Bab and Harim in the north of the country suffered from a new earthquake. The tremors were also felt in Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel.
On February 6, a series of earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria, killing tens of thousands of people. As the Public News Service wrote, the most destructive elements turned out to be for the Turkish provinces of Kahramanmarash and Hatay.
