27-year-old senior lieutenant Eduard Norpolov from Transbaikalia died in the line of duty in the area of a special military operation. The serviceman took part in operations near Kiev, in the storming of the Gostomel airfield, in battles near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, reports chita.ru.

Eduard Norpolov died of a sniper bullet while on a combat mission, when his company was tasked with reconnaissance and search operations and the destruction of a fortified company stronghold with enemy forces superior. The man, until his death, gave instructions to the unit to save the life and health of its personnel.
Under Eduard’s leadership, his detachment destroyed more than 20 armored vehicles, more than 50 special vehicles and more than 300 Ukrainian militants.
On February 24, a special military operation began on the territory of Ukraine, the main objectives of which are the demilitarization and denazification of the country. According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, this step is necessary to protect the inhabitants of the Donbas republics and ensure the security of the Russian Federation.
