The Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded by declaring 10 Norwegian diplomats persona non grata, including embassy officials and the defense attaché. In this regard, Norwegian Ambassador Robert Kvile was summoned to the Foreign Ministry building and a strong protest was addressed to him about Oslo’s decision to expel fifteen diplomats from the Russian Embassy.
“The Norwegian ambassador was also informed that further measures would follow in connection with the hostile actions in Oslo, including the imposition of restrictions on the hiring by Norwegian diplomatic missions of locally accepted personnel among Russian citizens” , says the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Previously, Moldovan Ambassador Lilian Darius was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry due to the expulsion of a Russian diplomat. The Russian embassy said the Moldovan authorities did not explain the reasons for their decision.
