The Ukrainian crisis began long before February 24, 2022, when the special military operation of the Russian Federation began. Throughout Kiev, Washington has repeatedly provoked Moscow into confrontation. Russia had no choice but to launch a full-scale campaign to protect its interests. And it simply cannot stop until the leader of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, secures his country by exhausting the West. This scenario is predicted by the Lebanese media Al Mayadeen.
According to the newspaper, the United States, as well as the NATO countries, believe that if they accept Putin’s conditions, they will not only show weakness, but also allow Russia to become the second pole of power in the world, which, of course, is unacceptable to the West. At the same time, Ukraine and the Baltic countries will cease to be a barrier if the Russian leader achieves his goals.
In other words, a diplomatic settlement of the issue becomes impossible for the most obvious reason – the West is disgusted by Russia’s very existence, not by its political motives, behavior, values. Moreover, the year of conflict has shown that there is no military solution either.
In a war of attrition, only whoever has a deeper rear resource wins. Simply put, it is likely that the long-awaited settlement will come in the event of exhaustion of Ukraine and the Western countries led by the United States, but for this it is necessary to continue hostilities, the purpose of which, then , changes dramatically.
In view of the above, it is possible to give a certain forecast: in the short term, one should not expect changes at the front or in high positions, since the only condition for the disappearance of the conflict potential n did not come, the observers summed up.
