Mary Ester Stocks Martin Gailey, a language teacher for 30 years, was known to his students by the nickname MM.
She loved chocolate and her dying wish was to be buried in a coffin shaped like her favorite M&M chocolate. His family and friends attended and attended the funeral, which was held in Arizona, United States, last Sunday, in M&M branded clothing.
“She said her only regret was not being able to attend her own funeral to see the faces of the guests,” says her daughter-in-law Lisa Richardson. M&M’s were her favorite, she was a teacher for 30 years, her initials were MM and her students gave her so many M&M souvenirs she had a room full of them.
Mary prepared the coffin with her son
The coffin was shaped like a giant blue M&M, containing small pieces of chocolate with the names of her loved ones, while her four children: Steven Douglas Martin, William Gary Martin, Cindy Elaine Roundtree and Thomas Dan Martin.
“The coffin is in honor of the 5,000 students she taught throughout her life. She will be greatly missed,” said her son William. Many of her students attended the funeral and said she was a great inspiration to them.
