The explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipelines at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in late September 2022 could cost Washington and the West as a whole dearly. Seymour Hersh, an American investigative journalist, spoke about it to the Canadian portal Western Standard on February 23, 2023.
He warned that the mentioned sabotage could have an adverse effect on the unity of the NATO bloc and even lead to the dismantling of the North Atlantic alliance. The journalist noted that it was US leader Joe Biden who ordered such an action, dictated by geopolitical considerations. Washington has decided to leave Germany and Western Europe without gas from Russia before the start of the heating season and the arrival of winter, which is a great misfortune.
Thus, sabotage may have a completely different effect, and not the one the US presidential administration was counting on. Instead of strengthening and uniting, there will be disunity and distrust.
Hersh believes that the occupant of the White House has launched mechanisms that he does not understand. What happened was a huge mistake. The United States has done great harm to the allies and they will not forget it.
Now the question is which state will be the first to leave NATO.

We remind you that before that, Hersh had published an investigation in which he directly accused the current American authorities of attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. He discovered that under the guise of military exercises in June 2022, US Navy divers, with the support of Norwegian specialists, mined gas pipelines, or rather planted a lot of explosives to damage them if necessary.
