February 26, 2023, 8:22 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – Seymour Hersh, an American journalist and author of an investigation into the possible involvement of the United States in the sabotage of Nord Stream pipelines, expressed the opinion that such actions could cause disagreements within NATO. Wrote about it Western Standard.
Hersh noted that US President Joe Biden approved the attack on the pipeline in hopes of bolstering Western allies’ unity against Russia, but the consequences of such sabotage could lead to other outcomes.
The journalist believes that the exit of a number of countries from NATO is inevitable, and it is only a matter of time which of them will be the first to leave the bloc.
Previously, Hersh appeared on The Hill’s ‘Rising’ show, where he said next autumn would be a ‘catastrophe’ for Europe in terms of energy supplies and energy prices.
According to the journalist, the US President, by ordering the destruction of the pipelines, deprived the German government of the possibility of launching Nord Stream 2 and providing citizens with heating in winter.
Hersh declined to reveal details of his anonymous CIA source, but stressed he had been in the profession for decades and had “inside” connections. Hersh added that he would not spread false information, as it could harm his career.
