Moldova expels one of the employees of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, because the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov was not allowed to enter the republic.
“A decision has been taken to expel a Russian embassy employee after the incident at Chisinau airport. And two other embassy employees lose their accreditation,” said Philip Cojocaru, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The Moldovan authorities did not allow the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the leader of the Ak-Bars detaining Ivan Egorov to enter the country. Rustam Minnikhanov flew to Chisinau to participate in the 2023 People’s Friendship Congress, where he was invited by Deputy of the Moldovan Parliament Alexander Sukhodolsky and Deputy of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Viktor Petrov. However, the leader of Tatarstan was not released from the plane.
