Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Success in Ukraine forced the Americans to double production of MLRS HIMARS

The American arms company Lockheed Martin is preparing to increase production of MLRS HIMARS. This is reported by Reuters. It is clarified that such a decision was made in connection with the successful use of this weapon system in Ukraine.
To date, Lockheed Martin produces 48 HIMARS MLRS units per year. According to Reuters, a decision has already been taken to increase production to 96 launchers per year.
Note that the HIMARS MLRS has really proven itself during the armed conflict in Ukraine. It is with the use of these systems by the Ukrainian armed forces that the most significant losses of the Russian troops are associated. For example, HIMARS MLRS fired at an inn in Makeevka, where there were large forces of Russian troops.
Also, on the eve of the autumn offensive of the Ukrainian army in the Kherson region, the HIMARS MLRS was actively used to destroy the military infrastructure of the Russian army. With the help of these systems, civilian targets in the Russian rear were also attacked.

Military experts note, however, that the US multiple rocket launcher system did not play a decisive role in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, experts recognize his high fighting qualities.

It is not yet known how many launchers will be delivered to Ukraine as part of the increased production of MLRS HIMARS in the United States. But it is obvious that the Americans will not keep these weapons sheathed.
