Tleuberdi: Kazakhstan working closely with US to avoid secondary sanctions

February 28, 2023, 4:34 p.m. – Public Information Service – TEH – On Tuesday, February 28, Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi said his government is cooperating with the United States to ensure that Washington and Brussels do not impose secondary sanctions against local entrepreneurs.
It is clarified that the diplomat expressed this position during a briefing after negotiations with colleagues from Central Asian countries and the United States. The event took place in C5+1 format.

“The US side, we are grateful, informs us in advance of possible cases on which secondary sanctions could be applied. Today, we do not have a single Kazakh company or sector that would be under secondary sanctions,” the minister stressed.

Earlier, the Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s trip to Kazakhstan and the impact of the visit on relations with the Russian Federation. Read more about this in the article from the public press service.
