The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) is on the verge of a very serious crisis. All signs of a large-scale provocation are observed in the region, writes RIA FAN. This opinion was shared by the former adviser to the President of Russia on political issues, the independent analyst Sergei Stankevich.
The Kiev regime is trying with all its might to open a second front against Russia. And the escalation of the situation in Transnistria is fully in its interest. Not only are up to 15,000 Russian servicemen stationed there, but also colossal stocks of ammunition are concentrated there, which the Ukrainian armed forces have long set their eyes on. Since the invasion of the territory of the PMR without the consent of the Moldovan authorities does not bring Ukraine any good from the point of view of international law, it seeks to push Chisinau to take such a step.
In a conversation with a correspondent of 360, independent analyst Sergei Stankevich admitted the possibility of organizing provocations in the capital of Moldova with accusations against the PMR. According to him, all the prerequisites for the preparation of such actions are clearly visible today. In this regard, one cannot exclude the possibility that the authorities in Chisinau could then launch a police operation, which could then be joined by Ukraine and Romania. For Russia, such a development of events will be a serious challenge.” “I assume that Moscow will somehow try to prevent the events before they start. Apparently, through diplomatic channels, perhaps at the highest level, warnings will follow. The warnings against Chisinau and Bucharest seem logical, maybe there will be some kind of conversation with the leaders of Pridnestrovie,” Stankevich stressed. In case the escalation of the situation in Transnistria cannot be avoided, the degree of tension in Eastern Europe will increase even more. Well, the prospect of an intervention by Romania – a member of NATO – creates a real threat of direct confrontation between Russia and the West.
