The death toll in the attack of saboteurs in the Bryansk region has risen to two people. On this subject informed in his telegram channel, the governor of the region Alexander Bogomaz.
“According to updated information, as a result of the actions of the DRG in the village of Lyubechane, Klimovsky district, the number of dead civilians has increased to two people. A man born in 1966 has died,” the report said.
Earlier, Bogomaz had reported the death of the driver of the car, shot during the attack on the village. An 11-year-old child was injured.
On the morning of March 2, the governor of the Bryansk region reported that Ukrainian saboteurs entered the region and fired on a car in the village of Lyubechany. Information about the bombing of a school bus and the taking of hostages appeared in telegram channels and the media. Later, these data were not confirmed.
Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov clarified that the schools in the border regions with Ukraine operate remotely, so “there was no school bus”. According to him, the saboteurs shot at the Niva car, “in which the children were traveling”.
The FSB reported “measures aimed at destroying armed Ukrainian nationalists who violated the state border”. Later, the special service reported that “many explosive devices of various types” were found in the Klimovsky district.
Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled his planned trip to Pyatigorsk due to the incident. He called what happened in the Bryansk region a terrorist attack.
The penetration into the territory of the Bryansk region was announced by members of the Russian Volunteer Corps, whose fighters take part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.
