The Qatari Forum for Authors hosted the writer and artist Ahmed Al-Muftah, within the third episode of the Al-Hekaya program, where he reviewed his career in the fields of writing and art and his most important creative stations and artistic productions. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Aisha Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatari Forum for Authors. Al-Muftah said: The beginning of the story of the passion for writing was from Al-Wakra Preparatory School, where the Arabic teacher discovered his talent and the fertility of his imagination through an exam in composition subject, although he was not aware of his acquisition of this faculty, but the teacher’s praise of his subject and imagination gave him great confidence in himself and made him pay attention to his talent. Since that time, communication with the pen and reading began, and this relationship was strengthened every time through deep reading in all branches of knowledge and progress in writing.
He added that the second factor that helped him to step steadily in this field was his entry into the theater in the third year of middle school, and his acting experience, only to find himself two years later able to write a theatrical text at an early period in his life, indicating that he chose his academic major at the university in the light of his passion for reading and writing. He did not hesitate to choose to study the Arabic language, and at that same stage he practiced media work, whether through publishing in newspapers or through his activity in the Doha Youth Center and Al-Maraya Magazine. He stated that at the beginning of his way of writing, he used to write and read in various fields, which strengthened his communication with writing and enriched his knowledge and linguistic balance, and he accumulated knowledge.
