unsplash.comAmerican nutritionists from Tulane University conducted a study and found out which diet is most dangerous not only for human health, but also for the environment.Three types of diets have been studied: the meat-based paleo diet, the carbohydrate-free keto diet, and the vegan diet. The results of the scientific work have been published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.During the experiment, it turned out that the carbon footprint of a vegan diet is the lowest – only 0.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide per thousand calories consumed. The indicator for the paleo diet reaches 2.6 kilograms, but for the keto diet it is almost 3 kilograms.
