His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, met today with HE Mrs. Tanzila Narbaeva, Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and her accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting the country to participate in the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, which began today in Doha. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the President of the Uzbek Senate, noting the relations between the two friendly countries and peoples. For her part, HE Mrs. Tanzila Narbaeva expressed her thanks to the government and people of the State of Qatar, appreciating Doha’s hosting of the Parliamentary Forum and the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries. In this context, she praised Doha’s role in supporting development efforts and its pursuit of sustainable development goals, in particular its important role in supporting the least developed countries. Her Excellency also praised the Qatari renaissance and the tangible development the country is witnessing in various fields, expressing her admiration for the success achieved by Qatar in hosting the FIFA,Football,Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022. The meeting also dealt with reviewing the parliamentary cooperation relations between the two sides, and ways to enhance and develop them, as the two sides stressed the need for Coordination of positions and points of view in international parliamentary forums, to serve issues of common interest. A number of Their Excellencies members of the Council attended the meeting.
