The Zolotaya Korona money transfer service limited transfers abroad from Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff and Sberbank cards. Users of the payment system have drawn attention to this point. The Golden Crown explained the restrictions by the sanctions imposed on Russian banks by Western countries.
In the press service of the Golden Crown, commenting on the problems encountered by users, said RBC that the service cannot make cross-border transfers due to the risk of violating the sanctions regime of other states.
“When making cross-border transfers, we are forced to be guided by the requirements of partners who directly pay for transfers in other countries, settlement banks and our own compliance division, which boil down to the reluctance to conduct operations in violation of the sanctions regimes. from third countries,” said Golden Crown.

“Golden Crown” allow transfer money from Russia to 16 countries including Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Serbia, China and Israel. Funds can be received in different currencies, including dollars and local currency. The service, in particular, is popular among Russians who left Russia after the start of the military conflict with Ukraine and the announcement of mobilization.

On February 25, Tinkoff Bank fell under EU sanctions for the first time. Restrictions imposed on a credit institution include freezing assets in EU countries, disconnecting from SWIFT, as well as prohibiting transactions with them. Sberbank and Alfa-Bank, meanwhile, have been under Western sanctions since February 24, 2022. In total, more than 20 Russian banks are under Western sanctions.
