A Polish Mi-24 helicopter crashes 20 km from Brest

A Polish Air Force Mi-24 helicopter crashed on a Polish military base near the town of Biala Podlaska, 20 km from Belarusian Brest. As a result of the incident, the pilots were not injured, the helicopter itself received minor damage.
The Polish Army General Staff said the helicopter was on a test flight near the Belarusian border. Local media reported that law enforcement did not release details of the incident, citing secrecy.
On March 6, 2023, an aviation accident occurred in the Byala Podlaska region in a sparsely populated area during flight tests, as a result of which the Mi-24 helicopter suffered damage to the chassis and the right wing
– says the official statement of the Polish General Staff.

Some Polish media suggest that the downed Mi-24 was being tested before being handed over to the Ukrainian military. The equipment supply request, which Kiev sent to NATO in March, in addition to the coveted 24 F-16 fighters, included 75 Mi-24 helicopters. In particular, Poland has 28 units of these helicopters.
