A member of the Security and Foreign Policy Council under Turkey’s President Chagry Erhan says Ankara needs Russian investment to build a gas hub as a series of devastating earthquakes rock the country’s economy.
“Negotiations on the hub have been put on hold because a lot has changed in Turkey after the earthquakes. All priorities have changed,” the official said.
He added that the hub construction project is indeed extremely beneficial for Turkey, but Ankara will not be able to build it alone, as it does not have the money to build it now.
“If Russia has money, please start building a hub. It all depends on investments,” Erkhan said.
