Under the auspices of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the activities of the twenty-fourth Gulf Engineering Forum will start tomorrow under the title "Environmental Engineering and Sustainability"which is hosted by the State of Qatar from 7 to 9 March, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies ministers and dignitaries from Qatar and the Gulf and Arab countries.
The activities of the forum, which are organized by the Ministry of Municipality, the Gulf Engineering Federation and the Qatar Society of Engineers, include 5 discussion sessions with the participation of a group of speakers from the State of Qatar and the Gulf countries, where 25 working papers were chosen to be presented during the days of the forum, dealing with four axes: technology and smart cities, materials Sustainable construction, efficient building and city management, waste management and recycling. It is scheduled that during the opening session of the forum, 15 engineers who pioneered engineering work at the Gulf level will be honored, as two engineering pioneers will be honored from each Gulf country, and five will be honored from the organizing country (Qatar), in the category of individuals, and in the category of projects. Distributing the Gulf Engineering Union Award for Excellence and Creativity in Projects to the winning engineering pioneers from Qatar and the Gulf states, as well as the best engineering projects that achieve environmental and sustainability standards. The forum will be accompanied by an engineering exhibition specialized in the environment and sustainability, in which 20 participants from governmental and semi-governmental agencies and the private sector from Qatar and the Gulf countries will participate, in addition to distinguished participations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait, in order to present the most prominent ideas, projects and engineering services in the field of environment and sustainability. The 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Gulf Engineering Union will be celebrated, and on the sidelines of the forum, field visits will be organized for participating delegations from various Gulf countries to Lusail Stadium and Stadium 974, in order to see the pioneering Qatari experience in terms of sustainability and environmental preservation. The activities of the Gulf Engineering Forum and the accompanying exhibition will be available to the public and specialists in the engineering sector to visit, attend discussion sessions, and present working papers during the three days.
