Yesterday noon (Wednesday), the Committee of Women Engineers of the Qatar Society of Engineers and the Committee of Women of Engineers of the UAE Society of Engineers signed a cooperation agreement to exchange information, experiences and expertise in the field of the engineering sector, on the sidelines of the activities of the second day of the twenty-fourth Gulf Engineering Forum under the title (Environmental Engineering and Sustainability).

It was signed by Eng. Abeer Bu-Hulaika, Vice-Chairman of the Committee of Women Engineers (Qatar Society of Engineers), and Dr. Nahla Al-Qasimi, Vice-President of the Emirates Society of Engineers and Vice-President of the Federation of Arab Engineers, in the presence of Eng. Fahd Muhammad Al-Qahtani, Assistant Undersecretary for Urban Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality, and Eng. Khaled Ahmed Al-Nasr, President of the Qatar Society of Engineers. Engineer Abeer Buhulaika, Vice-Chairman of the Qatari Committee of Engineers, said that the aim of signing the cooperation agreement with the Committee of Female Engineers at the UAE Society of Engineers comes within the framework of activating the role of female engineers in the Gulf countries and looking forward to more cooperation and exchange of experiences in the engineering fields, pointing to the activity of the Committee of Qatari Female Engineers during the recent period. Especially their role in the 2022 World Cup projects.

Dr. said. Nahla Al Qasimi, Vice President of the Emirates Society of Engineers, said that the committees of women engineers receive great attention from the UAE and Gulf Society of Engineers, because of their clear impact in highlighting the role of women and their successes in engineering work. She said that signing this agreement would shed light on the challenges facing Gulf women engineers in light of The increase in the number of female engineering students in our Gulf countries in recent years, which required the existence of committees to help them face these challenges and provide them with knowledge and continuous scientific and technological developments in the engineering sector. She added that the Women Engineers Committee is interested in female engineers at the university level and introduces them to job opportunities in the labor sector, so that women are always partners with men. She noted that the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Qatari Committee of Female Engineers aims to join efforts and fruitful cooperation to empower women in order to achieve their aspirations and highlight their role, as well as communicate with employers to learn about their needs for female engineering graduates and support scientific research for female students in their various disciplines.
