Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ragnhildur Steinunn reviews the last few weeks – “I’ve seen many stars born on stage”

Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, TV presenter on RÚV, reviews her latest project and contribution to the work of the past few weeks, but as most people in the country know, Ragnhildur Steinunn was one of three presenters in the singing competition on RÚV.
“Saturday night, Diljár’s incredible childhood dream came true, to win the singing contest! Congratulations to Diljá Pétursdóttir and Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson. An emotional moment that touched most people. Diljá won with brilliantly and received a total of 164,003 votes last night, breaking a voting record. Go girl!”

Ragnhildur Steinunn has now taken to the competition stage for the 16th time as a presenter, but RÚV did not hold a preliminary competition in 2020, but chose Daða and Gagnamagnið to participate on our behalf.
“The singing competition is the biggest party in the country (as my Siggi always says) and I am really proud to have been part of the competition’s journey since 2007. During these years I have seen many stars to be born on stage, to have participated in the development and expansion of the competition and to feel how the event can be a unifying symbol,” says Ragnhildur Steinunn.
She says the most enjoyable thing about this kind of project is the creation itself. “To create a complete experience for the audience where every entry, candidate interviews, structure and stage of a script must be thought through. The trick, of course, is to make it at home in a relaxed way for those of you who have disappeared. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, but we always do our best.”
As you would expect, a lot of people come to such a big show and say that Ragnhildur Steinunn is a genius in every establishment. She thanks them and says her co-hosts, Unnstein Manuel Stefánssin and Sigurð Þorra Gunnarsson, showed it and proved that they really belong on the biggest TV show in the country. She also thanks the producers for putting up with the little things inside her and Rúnari Frey Gíslasyn, the competition’s project manager, for going ahead and implementing complex ideas and fixing things at the last minute so that the competition singing grows and prospers. every year. She also thanks Skarphéðn Guðmundsson, Program Director of RÚV, for always believing that she brings something new every year. says she likes him.
“And thank you to the public for the wonderful reception and participation in the Söngvakeppensgledin. Without you, the Song Contest would not be what it is at all. Thank you for us.”
