His Excellency Mr. Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, affirmed that Qatar’s hosting of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries is an embodiment of its role and long history in the field of development and support for the least developed countries. His Excellency said, in an exclusive statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), that he "It is no secret to anyone the role of the State of Qatar in supporting the least developed countries, and the great efforts it has made in the field of development and humanitarian relief."Referring to the great support provided by His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, at the beginning of the conference, where he announced the provision of 60 million dollars in support of this conference, 10 million of which are for the follow-up of the Doha Work Program and 50 million for the desired outputs of this conference. He explained that the Qatar Fund for Development is the main tool for implementing the policies of the State of Qatar in the field of international development, highlighting that the Fund will have an important role in following up on the outcomes of this conference, as it will carry out many projects based on the basic pillars of this conference, whether they are related to poverty eradication, food security and technology. , or many other things.
