Al-Wakra Municipality closes a restaurant for violating the human food control law

Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Municipality announced the closure of a food establishment in Al-Wakra for a period of 7 days.

The ministry said on its Twitter account that Al-Wakra Municipality had issued an administrative decision to close "Omar Khayyam Bakery" For a period of 7 days, in violation of Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control.

The municipality called for the need to contact the unified call center on phone No. 184 to report any food violations.

According to the Ministry of Municipality’s website, determining the duration of the closure is up to the discretion of the competent municipal director according to the type and severity of the violation as determined by the law, provided that the period of closure does not exceed 60 days at a time, and the closures are multiplied by repeating the violations, and it is also prohibited to open the closed shop or start the activity or perform maintenance throughout Closing period, and violating this will result in criminal liability.
