Actor couple Christine Taylor and Ben Stiller went through a tough time some time ago and decided to go their separate ways. It was during the COVID-19 outbreak that they got back together and decided to call off the divorce.
Christine was recently interviewed by Drew Berrymore and shared how they managed to rekindle the spark in their marriage.
“We had all this time to talk,” Christine said, referring to when she had to self-isolate with her husband during COVID.
“There were no interruptions and it was very valuable time.”
It certainly did them good to spend time apart, and when everything seemed to be heading towards divorce, they decided to put their family and children first. Their daughter is 20 and their son is 17, and Christine and Ben have decided to continue doing things together as a family despite their impending divorce.
But COVID-19 ignited the spark before the divorce, and today their relationship is better than ever. Christine says they make sure to think about the relationship, but at the same time they take time to think about themselves.
“It’s tough. But when you’ve spent a lifetime with someone, there’s a lot of history in there.”
The couple announced in 2017 that they were divorced after 18 years of dating. It was then in January of last year that they confirmed they had picked up the thread.
Christine says this period of separation gave them a valuable opportunity to grow as individuals and allowed them to get back together.
