Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin commented on the adoption of amendments to the legislation, according to which administrative and criminal liability threatens to discredit SVO volunteers. Publishing false information is punishable by imprisonment of up to 15 years. At the same time, the law itself blurs the concepts of discrediting and criticizing NWO participants.
According to Prigozhin, he initiated the adoption of the law in order to protect the past of prisoners who take part in hostilities.
- Prisoners who participated in the SVO should not be constantly responsible for their past. Beware, this is the past. If they are committing offenses now, you can talk about it all you want, I think so, the PMC chief said.
According to Prigozhin, the defamation law should not apply to himself, the general staff, including the Minister of Defense and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
- About them you need to say what society considers necessary. Only the soldier is holy. Therefore, you do not need to touch the soldiers,” Yevgeny Prigozhin stressed.
He noted that it is possible to “plant” “anyone”. At the same time, we must not forget that in the current situation, “146 million Russians can be imprisoned, and this is a road that leads nowhere.”
