Arrest warrant for Putin issued in The Hague

The International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kremlin voice Dmitry Peskov at a daily briefing told reporters that Russia does not recognize the decision of the International Tribunal in The Hague, as the decision is considered insignificant and unacceptable.

“As a result, any decision from the point of view of law is void,” Peskov said.

At the same time, in addition to Vladimir Putin, the Russian children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova received an arrest warrant. She, in turn, said she saw the issuance of the warrant as an assessment by the international community of her work to save children’s lives.

“There were sanctions from all countries against me, now there is an arrest warrant, I wonder what will happen next,” concluded the children’s ombudsman.

The voice of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, reminded that Russia is not a party to the Rome Statute, therefore, the decisions of this court can be completely ignored by her.

The situation is similar in Ukraine, which has not signed the Hague Tribunal agreement.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said the move would only escalate the conflict, which could trigger the biggest conflict in the world.

Well, the “hawk” Dmitry Medvedev even compared the mandate with toilet paper.

“There is no need to explain where this paper should be used,” he tweeted.
