Decision No. (4) of 2023, HE Dr. Hanan Muhammad Al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, specified the data and specifications of the health insurance card.
The Official Gazette issued by the Ministry of Justice published in Issue No. 4 of 2023 the details of the decision, which includes 3 articles.
Article (1) The following data must be entered in the health insurance card in both Arabic and English: 1- The name of the card. 2- The name of the health insurance company. 3- The name of the beneficiary. 4- Personal number. 5- Nationality. 6 date of birth. 7 Number of beneficiaries. 8- The name and capacity of the beneficiaries. 9- Degree of insurance. 10- The card issuance date. 11- Signature of the card holder. 12- Signature of the person in charge of the insurance company.
Article (2) The insurance card must include the following specifications: 1- A recent photograph of its owner that enables the health care service provider to verify his identity and his entitlement to the health care services prescribed for him. 2- The bar code to read the card data electronically. 3- The logo of the insurance company. The card shall be of a size that allows it to be easily carried and shown to the health care provider. Article (3) All competent authorities, each within its jurisdiction, shall implement this decision, and it shall come into effect from the day following the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
