Putin arrived in Crimea for the first time since the start of hostilities in Ukraine

On Saturday, March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived for the opening of the Korsun Children’s Art School and Center in Sevastopol, transmits “Vesti Krym”. The visit of the Russian leader takes place on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the inclusion of the peninsula in the Russian Federation.

Putin came to Crimea for the first time since the start of the military operation in Ukraine. Previously, the President visited the region in November 2021 on National Unity Day, Remarks RBC. In December 2022, Putin crossed the Crimean Bridge without entering the peninsula.

Previously in the Kremlin declared that the President will participate in the opening of a certain cultural and historical object in Crimea via video link. Razvozhaev in his telegram channel clarified that in Sevastopol, preparations were underway for the opening of a children’s art school in Chersonesos via videoconference, but Putin “picked up and came”. “Myself. Razvozhaev said that he, together with the Metropolitan of Pskov and Porkhov Tikhon Shevkunov, showed Putin the first part of the project of the Tauric Chersonese Historical and Archaeological Park. The day before, Putin at a meeting on the socio-economic development of the regions declared that Russia will do everything to stop any threat against Crimea and Sevastopol.

“Obviously, security issues are a priority for Crimea and Sevastopol, especially today,” he said.

In 2022, on the anniversary of Crimea’s annexation to Russia, Putin performed at a concert-rally at Luzhniki in Moscow.
