The UN confirms the extension of the “grains agreement” and calls on all parties to redouble their efforts to implement both parts of it. This was reported by the office of UN Secretary General António Guterres.
“The Black Sea Grain Initiative has been extended. The initiative helps ensure safe shipping for the export of grain, related foodstuffs and fertilizers, including ammonia, from selected Ukrainian ports,” said the UN Secretary General, Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, in a press release.
The UN has not specified for how long the “grains agreement” is extended.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the extension of the agreement on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports, but did not specify the timetable.
At the same time, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Kubrakov said that the “grain agreement” had been extended for 120 days, not 60, as the Russian side had previously declared.
Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko announced that the “grain agreement” has been extended for 60 days. According to him, Moscow has received assurances that all promises made to lift restrictions on the supply of Russian agricultural products on international markets would be kept.
