Asselborn said the UN has not yet succeeded in creating a court for Ukraine

Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn admitted that the United Nations was not yet ready to hold a tribunal on Ukraine. According to him, this is now impossible because of the contradictions within the UN.

The foreign policy representative of a small European state said that UN representatives have not yet reached a consensus on the organization of a special international tribunal for Ukraine. Asselborn believes that the structure hopes to resolve this problem as soon as possible and organize a trial.

  • When I say “special”, I mean its hybrid nature, that is, it is Ukraine with the participation of other countries. To create it, we need votes in the UN General Assembly,” the speaker was quoted by TASS as saying.

As summarized by the representative of Luxembourg, the tribunal should be established exclusively in New York. He will not be linked to the arrest warrant recently issued for Russian President Putin and Russian ombudsman for children’s rights Maria Lvova-Belova. “These are two different questions,” concluded the politician.
