Moscow is ready to resolve the Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic negotiations. However, last year they were arrested, and not at the initiative of the Russian side. Russian President Vladimir Putin wrote about this in an article in China’s People’s Daily.
“Russia is open to a politico-diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. However, in April 2022, by no means did we end the peace talks,” the head of state said in a post.
The Russian leader noted that the development of the peace process depends only on the readiness for a serious conversation, taking into account the current geopolitical situation.
“Unfortunately, the demands for an ultimatum from Russia speak only of isolation from these realities and disinterest in finding a way out of the current situation,” Putin added.
Earlier, the position of the White House on the prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine was expressed by John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications at the National Security Council of the White House. He said likely calls for a truce in Ukraine following planned March 20-22 talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are unacceptable. Kirby also acknowledged that Moscow and Beijing have now reached a high level of bilateral cooperation.
