The arrival of 4 thousand mobile homes from Qatar to provide relief to those affected by the Turkish earthquake

The number of mobile housing units sent by Qatar for earthquake relief in Turkey has reached 4,000 units.

Mr. Youssef Al-Mulla, a humanitarian aid researcher at the Qatar Fund for Development, said – during an interview on Qatar TV – that the mobile homes that Qatar sent were housing units that hosted last year’s World Cup fans.

The mobile homes contain all the necessities, including beds, tables, air conditioning and bathrooms.

Following the earthquake disaster, Qatar announced its intention to send 10,000 prefabricated homes to the earthquake-affected areas in Turkey and Syria, and the first batch of them arrived in Turkey 6 days after the earthquake.

On February 6, two violent earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing tens of thousands of people and leaving massive material damage.
