Actress and health guru Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t have a blissful seven days yet. She was sued by a retired ophthalmologist for an accident on a ski slope in Utah in 2016.
Request 428 million in damages
It was yesterday, March 21, that Gwyneth went to the previous court to meet Terry Sanderson, 76. Gwyneth reportedly arrived in a cream colored turtleneck sweater and dark trousers News . Gwyneth filed a counterclaim against Terry, claiming he caused the collision.
The case dates back to January 2019, when Terry filed a lawsuit over injuries he sustained when Gwyneth ran into him on the beginner slope at Deer Valley Ski Resort in Utah. Terry claims to have suffered a concussion, four broken ribs and other injuries from the collision. Does he mean that Gwyneth caused the accident by skiing irresponsibly. He also criticizes the fact that Gwyneth and her ski instructor allowed themselves to disappear from the scene when it was obvious that he had injured himself.
“I went through great pain, not just because of the physical injuries I suffered,” the policy reads. It also indicates that Terry struggled with mental difficulties, such as anxiety, fear and depression. He was seriously injured and could not take care of himself.
Terry is seeking over $428 million in damages.
Ask for a dollar in damages
In a counterclaim filed by Gwyneth, she denies causing the accident. She was skiing with her family and an instructor when Terry hit her head-on from behind. He accepted the blame by apologizing after the accident and it is clear that he is now suing for damages because he realized that Gwyneth is both famous and rich.
“She did not knock him down or cause a concussion, brain injury or broken ribs,” the counterclaim reads. He says Gwyneth didn’t meet Terry and left him injured on the ski slope. He appeared to be unharmed and that there was no need for medical assistance.
Gwyneth seeks nominal damages of one dollar plus court costs.
The main treatment should last 8 days. Gwyneth is expected to testify as a party, and her husband, Brad Falchuk, and two children, Apple and Moses, will also testify.
