Ukraine wants to ban Azovstal radish and Heroes Don’t Die beer

Ukraine

A draft of a new law on intrastate commercial turnover has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The document prohibits the use of certain patriotic themes in product names.

According to the VESTI Telegram channel, Azovstal radish seeds, Heroes don’t die beer and Heroic Bucha kombucha are in danger of being banned.

Previously, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a law prohibiting assigning names associated with the USSR or Russia to geographical objects. According to the local parliamentarian Aleksey Goncharenko, it is a question of fighting against the “colonization intentions” of Russia.

The representative of the Rada stressed that the Russian Federation “actively imposes its symbols on other states.” In this regard, names that perpetuate or symbolize Russia or its sites, cities, events and people are prohibited.
