New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday claimed that the government wanted the opposition to withdraw its demand to set up a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) in the Adani case, but it would also withdraw its demand for an apology from Rahul Gandhi, but he did so. . Do not accept this formula as there can be no compromise with JPC. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also said that if Rahul Gandhi is given a chance to speak in the Lok Sabha under Rule 357, talks can be held to end the deadlock in Parliament.

Talking to reporters, he claimed, “For the last three-four days, efforts are being made to find a formula, a middle way, so that if the opposition withdraws the JPC demand, the BJP withdraws the apology from Rahul Gandhi.” Take it. This is not acceptable even to us Babli… We do not accept this formula. Ramesh also said that the government has not formally told anything about this formula to the opposition, but it has come to know informally.

He said that the demand for an apology from Rahul Gandhi is baseless as he has not made any such statement in Britain for which he needs to apologise. The Congress leader said there is no connection between Rahul Gandhi’s comments and the demand for a JPC to probe the issues related to the Adani groups. In response to a question, he said that if Rahul Gandhi is given a chance to speak in the House under Rule 357, then talks can be held to end the deadlock.

He says that once in the past, when Jyotiraditya Sidhiya had made some allegations as a Congress leader, under the same rules, Ravi Shankar Prasad got a chance to answer in the Lok Sabha. Ramesh said, ‘Many ministers of the government have made baseless allegations and Rahul Gandhi should get a chance to answer them. The Congress leader alleged that the government was responsible for the deadlock in both Houses of Parliament and was doing so to divert attention from general matters.

He also said, ‘We will not back down from the formation of JPC on the Adani scam.’ Hum abdali karde kar dena funton hai. In the second phase of the budget session of the Parliament which began on March 13, the proceedings of Question Hour and Zero Hour in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were disrupted for seven consecutive working days due to uproar by the opposition and the ruling party. and no other important legislative work could be done. In the case of Adani group, the opposition parties are adamant on the demand for formation of JPC. On the other hand, the ruling party Congress is demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi on a statement made in London.
