Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ukraine announced the transfer of seriously injured POWs to Russia

The Ukrainian headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war said that Ukraine had unilaterally handed over all seriously injured prisoners of war to the Russian side.

The department specifies that all the Russian servicemen captured since the beginning of the military conflict to be transported were transferred to Russia.

“In this case, it is not an exchange of prisoners of war, but rather repatriation: the return of seriously injured prisoners without any conditions, as provided for by international humanitarian law”, indicates the Telegram channel of the headquarters.

The headquarters expressed hope for similar actions from Russia and also called on the international community to “increase the pressure” on the Russian Federation.

Earlier, the Ombudsman of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Daria Morozova, said that Ukrainian militants were proposing new, more sophisticated types of torture against Russian prisoners of war.
