Macron and Scholz want to pressure Russia via China

Germany and France are in favor of increased cooperation with China in order to put “pressure” on Russia because of the situation in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has said, reports FAN.

At a press conference in Brussels, the politician noted that this issue had already been discussed with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Paris and Berlin want the Ukraine conflict to end and the parties to return to the negotiating table, writes the Profil newspaper, with China pressuring Russia to persuade it not to use chemical and nuclear weapons,” Macron said during his speech. Earlier it was reported that the French president announced his intention to pay a working visit to China. Macron said he planned to visit China with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
