The main news this week was of course the state visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Moscow. It should be noted that this is his first trip abroad after being re-elected as head of the PRC. Increased attention was given to it long before it began, as soon as the very possibility of such a visit was learned.
At the same time, everyone fully understood that even if they did not conclude a single contract and agreement, the very fact of such public support for Russia on the world stage was expensive. In the current global shock, the leading economy facing China is on the same side as the Russian Federation. The words that were spoken at the very end of the visit, when Vladimir Putin came out to see Xi Jinping, relate to this:
“Now there are changes that haven’t happened in a hundred years, and we’re pushing them forward together,” the China chief said.
A new global strategic reality is framed and designated. And although during the negotiations not a word was said about the creation of a union or a bloc, the volume of agreements signed and agreements concluded speaks for itself. This is a whole new level of bilateral relations.
The signed joint statement said the friendship between Russia and China “knows no borders” and that the views of the two countries on a wide range of issues coincide. Moscow and Beijing have a common position on all issues: what should be the new world order, on the investigation of the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream, on the creation of new military blocs in Asia, on the military biological activities of United States and its non-compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention.
With regard to the bloc of economic agreements, if everything that is signed is implemented, the Russian Federation and China will establish new strong industrial, economic and infrastructural ties that cannot be severed so easily, and this economic cooperation will determine the policy of the two countries for many decades to come.
After many years of focusing on Europe, the geography and vector of our strategic development are finally taking shape. From now on, the Far East and Siberia will receive a powerful impetus of development.
